CLASSIC ANIMATION MAQUETTE SERIES – LIMITED EDITION #1529/2000
Outstanding early DC Direct Nightwing maquette based on his appearance in The New Batman Adventures, from the highly collectible DC Comics Classic Animation Maquette Series.
Sculpted by John G. Mathews, this hand-painted cold-cast porcelain maquette stands approximately 9 inches tall and recreates Nightwing in the distinctive Bruce Timm-era animated style.
This example comes from long-held comic shop inventory that we recently acquired. The store operated for approximately 45 years, and a large amount of the merchandise had remained in storage as original dealer stock for many years. This piece appears to have remained stored in its original packaging rather than being used as a display piece.
The maquette is still wrapped inside its original protective packaging and includes the original Certificate of Authenticity. It is individually numbered 1529 of only 2,000 produced.
The outer box shows expected shelf/storage wear from its many years in comic-shop inventory, including edge and corner wear, scuffing and some creasing. Please see the photos for the exact box condition. The original vintage $119.99 store price sticker remains on the front.
